SK SERI TASEK, PULAU PINANG

Sekolah Kebangsaan Seri Tasek is a rural school in Penang with 589 students and 52 teachers in one session. The school is very active in participating in academic and non-academic activities on a district, state and national level. The school only started using Frog early this year and has already won in student, teacher and school categories on a district level in Frog Championships Level Up Maths.
 
Their journey with Frog began when Encik Hazim Syahmi bin Sajali was transferred to the school. He was previously a user of Frog and have experienced first-hand the benefits and impact of Frog in teaching and learning. Thus, this led him to take up the challenge to introduce the use of Frog in SK Seri Tasek. With the support of the school’s Head Teacher Puan Noorhasimah binti Ismail, Encik Hazim was able to drive initiatives that encouraged teachers and students to utilise Frog in class. Some of such initiatives are competitions in conjunction to Hari Raya and Merdeka Day celebrations. Students were encouraged to write a unique speech in their Sites and the best speech was chosen.

Students have shown immense improvement in their academic performance and this is clearly seen through their impeccable performance during the Frog Championships Level Up Maths when students from the school won second and third place in the student category on a district level.
 
A tool for teachers to teach better
Initially, Encik Hazim used Frog Championships as an entry point to get teachers on-board to use actively Frog. He introduced teachers to FrogPlay Quizzes and Community Quizzes, and taught them how to create and shared them with one another and students. Since then, teachers find these available content to be so convenient for classroom lessons and are able to better engage students in learning with the fun and interactive elements in Sites and Quizzes.
 
“Frog VLE banyak membantu saya dalam PdP kerana pelbagai bahan telah disediakan dan saya boleh mengakses keputusan dengan lebih cepat. Banyak fungsi (widget) dalam Frog VLE yang dapat membantu mempelbagaikan kaedah pelaksanaan PdPc. Frog VLE juga boleh dimanipulasikan dan digunakan dalam urusan rasmi seperti eRPH atau medan perkongsian maklumat antara guru-guru. “Frog VLE merupakan satu medan pembelajaran maya yang dapat memudahkan PdPc guru. Dipihak guru,  melalui Frog VLE, guru dapat menyediakan bahan, memberi tugasan dan memantau pencapaian murid secara maya. Murid pula dapat mengakses Frog VLE untuk dapatkan bahan, buat ulangkaji dengan menjawab soalan, menjawab kuiz dan mencari maklumat. Penggunaan Frog VLE boleh dilakukan di sekolah atau di rumah dibawah pemantauan ibubapa. Dipihak pentadbiran sekolah, melalui Frog VLE dapat menyebarkan maklumat atau cerita tentang hal sekolah. Frog VLE mewujudkan budaya mengajar dan belajar yang menyeronokan serta suasana yang ceria.
